Tony grew up in Edina, MN. (cake eater) He attended Our Lady of Grace grade school, Benilde-St. Margarets high school and Mankato State College. He came from a family of eight kids, four boys and four girls. He loves all sports from the high school level to the pro level, especially football. He was on the wrestling team in high school and was a high school state champion at 138 lbs. He still follows the U of M and the Apple Valley high school wrestling programs. He worked for ten years for a family owned vending machine business, and in 1972 decided to go in the real estate business. He feels that it was the best decision that he ever made. In 1980 Karen joined Tony in both marriage and the business.
Karen is from Roosevelt, a very small town in the northern most part of Minnesota. She was raised in a home with no running water, a wood burning stove for heat and cooking, and two bedrooms, shared wiith her six brothers and two sisters. Karen knows what it is to go without. She is always the first to give herself to anyone in need, whether it be a gentle touch or a warm smile that is ever present with her. Karen has traveled many places, but there is none she likes better than Minnesota. One of the highlights of her life was visiting her home town in 2007 for the first time with Tony. In the process of visiting her town, Tony and Karen made a visit to the town hall to read up on some of the rcords of her ancestors. As she paged through the city records, she commented on all of her relatives and ancestors in the book, followed by a story and a memory, but then she turned the page and to her surprice reads an article "Local girl dances on the Lawrence Welk Show". Karen's passion, even today is dancing. She was observed by Lawence Welk himself and invited as a guest on his show.
They remained friends until his passing."Dance Karen dance, don't ever stop" Lawrence Welk
Karen's vivacious spirit, high energy, caring and concern for others, has propelled her to be recognized by St. Paul Magazine as "A Super Agent." Her client testimony letters arrive on a regulare basis. As she reads her letters from clients she says "this is what makes all the work worthwhile".
Tony and Karen have raised five kids. Two of their kids were adopted from California. They are natural brothers and were born to parents living on the streets. Today the Theisens are blessed with nine grand kids. The Theisens enjoy all the seasons of Minnesota especially winter, believe it or not. With real estate being very seasonal, busy in the warm weather and slow in the cold weather, the winter for them has always been, and still is the ultimate time for the family getting together and building memories. The entire family loves to snowmobile and ice fish. Today you will still find Karen building a snow fort for the grand kids. Some of the Theisen's best memories are on the coldest of the winter days. In the warm summer days you may just pass them on the highway riding a Harley, something that they enjoy doing with their friends.
Everyone has a story. Thanks for listening to ours, we would love to hear yours.
God Bless
